Bio

I moved to Cleveland from Virginia Beach, VA, when I was five years old.  My dad left active duty in the U.S. Navy and began teaching at Lee College.  I attended Bradley High School and then Lee University and graduated in 1995.   I married Chris Fox, who works in IT at Olin Chemical, in 1993 and worked at the Cleveland Public Library for several years until I was hired to teach at what was then Trewhitt Jr. High School.  I taught at Trewhitt for five years.  While there I graduated from UTC with my master's degree and my daughter, Jordan, was born.  When Walker Valley opened, I was first in line to interview for a job.  I began teaching English 10 and after a few years moved up to English 12.  My son, Brady, was born in 2006.  I am the head sponsor of the Beta Club on campus.

I absolutely love my job at Walker Valley.  I especially like teaching my seniors, who are experiencing a very interesting transition time in their lives.  I am very lucky to have been offered a chance to teach Dual Enrollment (Composition I) through Cleveland State about 16 years ago, and I enjoy that class immensely.  My favorite things about teaching include being able to stay around a learning atmosphere even though I am finished with school myself and forming relationships with students in my classes.  I feel so blessed that once they graduate, I always have several students who want to remain friends with me.  The administration as well as my colleagues makes WV a wonderful working environment.
